Ways to Give

Thank you in advance for any contribution you would like to make to these initiatives.

Send a grade 9 student to Sports Friends camp:

In February, HOPE Roggie grade 9 students will have the opportunity to attend a Sports Friends camp about an hour from their village. Sports Friends is a church-centered sports ministry whose vision it is to transform lives and strengthen communities with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The cost for one student for the one week camp experience is $60.

Partner with HOPE to pilot the Model Village/Village Entrepreneurship Project:

HOPE Enterprises would like to hire a community organizer to help the people living in Roggie Village wake up to their capacity to improve their lives by using modern farming techniques to earn the money to build better housing. HOPE will provide architectural drawings for model houses, coaching and mentoring. The pilot budget is $25,000.

Contribute toward a mini bus:

While Roggie is only 8 miles from the nearest town, getting back and forth is cumbersome and time consuming. Staff, who for the most part live in town, cannot afford private cars and so long walks in all kinds of weather are part of their daily commute. The purchase of a minibus will greatly improve morale, while decreasing teacher tardiness and absenteeism. The bus will also be used to pick up fuel for the well pump, to transport students on field trips and for medical emergencies. The budget for the mini bus is $50,000.

Help Get Roggie Village Wired:

HOPE Roggie project received a bid of 1 million ETB (~$48,000 USD) from the government to build the infrastructure necessary to provide electricity to Roggie Village and HOPE Roggie Project, including the well. HOPE is working to finalize the funding, including the community's portion.

Donate towards Unsponsored Children:

Not all of the children at HOPE Roggie School are sponsored and occasionally a sponsor is unable to continue to support a child through the full 12 years.  When a child is left without a sponsor, HOPE must use money from their general fund, diverting scarce resources from other worthwhile purposes.  While we welcome additional sponsors, will you please consider making a one-time gift to help HOPE cover the costs for unsponsored children?
