Capital Campaign for Roggie High School Raises over $340,000

Zenebe, Exectutive Director of HOPE Enterprises, HOPE Enterprise staff and the Roggie School community are so encouraged by the outpouring of support for the high school.

The high school will not only provide an excellent secondary education to its students, but it will also be a community center – a place that opens opportunities for the whole village through health care, adult literacy classes, microenterprise training and Bible teaching.  Electricity will also be brought to the village.

Currently HOPE Enterprises is soliciting construction bids. We will keep you informed as to the progress!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

MPPC team to train Soccer coaches during March trip

In celebration of the soccer field donated by the children of Shepherd’s Village in Menlo Park, MPPC will partner with Sports Friends ( and HOPE Enterprises to bring a week-long soccer camp to the Roggie students. Sports Friends mission is to equip churches in Africa, Asia, and South America to make disciples of youth, their families, and their communities through strategic sports ministry. They currently run a sports camp in the Roggie area.

Members from our team will be training Sports Friends coaches in both soccer training techniques and using sport for character development. Then the coaches will immediately practice what they are learning by providing a soccer camp to the Roggie students.

In addition to the soccer camp, we will continue partnering with the Roggie teachers to provide the students with a vacation Bible school. This year we will be using a technique called Bible storying which is being widely used in oral based cultures. Also we will have the privilege of participating in a Christian conference held at the school for the community. Our very own Heidi Sherry has been invited to speak.

Will you please join us in praying for:

  • HUMILITY: God will prepare our team to have humble loving servant heats as we interact with the Ethiopians and each other. May we be the hands and feet of Jesus. May we also have softened teachable hearts that look expectantly to God for all He has to teach us.
  • HEALING AND HOPE: The Ethiopians will experience the deep love of Jesus through miraculous reconciliation and forgiveness within the community
  • PREPARATION: Those teaching will be led by the Holy Spirit and those receiving the teaching will also be prepared through the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • COURAGE: The team will have courage to overcome any phobias associated with traveling to a new country and flexibilityto adjust and adapt to the living/rooming conditions as we will be spending 5 days at the school.
  • PROVISION: God will provide all that is needed before we go on the trip, including finances. Also, please pray for discernment as to what to take and what to leave behind.
  • LOVE: God bless us to be filled with His love for each other, the HOPE staff, the coaches, and all those who live in Roggie Village
